Each feature was curated with a purpose:
‘PRESS’: this logo is visible when the mat is in its folded state. It serves as a dual purpose. Firstly, we hope it reminds you of your duty to stand up and speak up for injustices. We are not enablers, we are people who challenge negative behaviours. Secondly, it is used symbolically to honour the brave journalists of Palestine who have risked (and lost) their lives to uncover and share the truth. We acknowledge their role in exposing injustice and encourage muslims to take inspiration from this. We also hope we remember those journalists in our du’as.
The MAP: visible when the mat is opened in the prayer-ready position. This was chosen to create love and connect between the muslims and land of Palestine. Our original Qibla. Many of us have not prayed here and may be feel a sense of disconnect. This is our attempt at bridging that gap, creating excitement and motivation to visit and pray on the real land one day insha’Allah.
